According to sources close to the development, Josephine Mensah, the woman at the centre of the contentious kidnapping and pregnancy case in Takoradi in the Western region, has yet to have a child with her current husband.

The woman, who is now a suspect in the case, has a child from a previous relationship, according to sources. She has, however, tried over the years, according to Starr News sources, to concede in her current relationship.

According to exclusive sources, her husband has recently expressed concern about their refusal to concede and has openly expressed his concerns to his wife’s family, particularly her mother.

The family did not return calls seeking comment on the latest development.

Meanwhile, police have arrested three people for allegedly conspiring to stage the kidnapping of a pregnant woman in Takoradi.

According to a police statement, medical records show she was never pregnant.

“Possible investigations also suggest the suspect may have conspired with other persons over her possible planned disappearance,” according to the statement.

“Three people have been arrested so far for further questioning on potential conspiracy charges.”

It went on to say that “the police are heavily relying on medical experts who have examined her.” Following a thorough medical examination by the doctors at the Axim Government Hospital, they determined that Josephine Potyit Mensah was not pregnant during the period under review.”
