Former President John Mahama has donated GHC100,000 to Radio Gold’s management for them to resume operations following the National Communications Authority’s return of their operating licenses.

On Wednesday, November 5, 2021, the cash donation was reportedly handed over to the station’s management.

On October 12, the NCA announced the restoration of Radio Gold, XYZ, and 131 other radio broadcasting licenses.

The licenses of NDC-affiliated Radio Gold and Radio XYZ were revoked due to nonpayment of operating licence fees and license expiration.

The approval is conditional on the applicants attending a workshop on the terms and conditions of FM radio broadcasting licenses.

It stated that provisional authorizations would be issued to successful applicants at the end of the workshop and that frequencies would be assigned to applicants only if the conditions of the Provisional Authorization were met.
