COVID-19: Ghana’s active cases drop to 5,240

Ghana’s COVID-19 cases have dropped though two more persons have died from the novel disease.

There have been 427 new cases taking the number of active cases to 5,240. There is, however, a reduction in the number of active cases from the initial 5,355 on September 6.

This is according to the Ghana Health Service (GHS). This brings the death toll to 1,089 as of September 7, 2021.

Some 124 of the currently active cases are severe while 49 others are in critical condition.

There have been 116,877 recoveries, the GHS website further says.

So far, 123,206 Ghanaians have contracted Covid-19 since the country recorded a case in March last year.
